On Tuesday, 8 September 2026, ISLA, in association with Pirum and RBC Investor Services, will be holding an in-person educational briefing for new or recent entrants to the industry who are looking to further their knowledge on T+1 within securities finance. This event will provide an introduction to one of the most significant post-trade market changes in recent years: the move to T+1 settlement in the UK, Europe, and Switzerland.

As the industry prepares for accelerated settlement, firms across the market have spent the last two years working through the operational, trading, collateral, liquidity, and technology challenges associated with the transition. Through a series of UK and EU steering committees, taskforces and industry working groups, market participants have collaborated to develop solutions and best practices designed to support a successful move to T+1.

During this session, delegates will gain insights from senior industry experts who will explore both the ‘why’ and the ‘how’ of T+1, giving attendees practical insights into the work undertaken across the industry and the implications for securities finance participants.

Topics include:

• The journey to T+1 across the UK and Europe, and the key industry milestones achieved to date.
• The impact of T+1 on securities lending and borrowing activity.
• How firms are adapting their operating models, technology, and controls to succeed in an accelerated settlement environment.

This will be followed by a structured networking opportunity, allowing attendees to meet and discuss their thoughts and experiences with peers over refreshments.
